Make videos in Kiswahili

Write a video in Kiswahili from an English brief, make a Kiswahili version of a video you already have, give a recut Kiswahili captions, or recut a presenter who speaks Kiswahili.

When your plan includes Kiswahili, videos can be narrated in it. The brief can stay in English: the script is written in Kiswahili from it, and checked against it like any other.

  1. 1

Choose the language on the brief

The brief's first step has Language under the music. Pick Kiswahili, and the narrators listed are the ones who read it.

  2. 2

    Or make a Kiswahili version

On a video that has a script, press Kiswahili version in the studio's top bar. It makes a new video with the same scenes, images, look and music, and its script written again in Kiswahili, as a draft for you to check.

  3. 3

    Check the script, then generate

Read it as you would any draft. Generating it uses a video from your month, like any other.

What stays as it was

Prices, numbers, phone numbers and websites stay in digits, exactly as the brief has them, and the narrator reads them in Kiswahili. A customer's quote stays in the words they said; the narration introduces it in Kiswahili.

Kiswahili captions on a recut

A recut keeps the speaker's own voice, so its Kiswahili version translates what's on screen instead: the captions and the words on the cards.

  1. 1

Press Kiswahili version on a finished recut

It's beside Edit the cards on the recut's page. It makes a new recut of the same footage, so nothing is uploaded or transcribed again.

  2. 2

    Read the Kiswahili

When the translation is done, the recut waits for a check. Each card shows the English that was said and the Kiswahili shown for it. In the transcript under the video, each sentence has its Kiswahili caption under it: click one to correct it on the right.

  3. 3

    Render it

Rendering uses a video from your month, like any new recut. The captions file (SRT) you download is in Kiswahili.

Names, numbers, web addresses and the brand's name stay exactly as they are. The Kiswahili appears in time with the English it translates.

Recut a presenter who speaks Kiswahili

If the person in your video speaks Kiswahili, pick Kiswahili under Language spoken in the video when you upload it. The speech is transcribed in Kiswahili, and the captions and cards quote what they actually said. A speaker who mixes in some English is fine: each part is quoted as it was said.

A Kiswahili recut can have an English version in the same way: press English version on the finished recut, and the captions and cards are translated into English for you to check.
